A police officer may enter any premises if the officer has a BORG that a person is there who:
- Has assaulted or threatened to assault a family member
- Is on the premises and contravening an FVIO, recognised DVO or FVSN
- Is refusing or failing to comply with a holding power direction
- Has the consent of any occupier of the premises
Reasonable and necessary force can be used to enter.

If:
- an FVSN or FVIO has been made against a person, or a police officer is satisfied there are grounds for an FVSN or FVIO, and
- The police officer is aware or SORGs that the person is in possession of a firearm, firearms authority, ammunition or a weapon
The police officer may, without warrant, enter and search:
- Any premises where the persons resides or has resided
- The premises where family violence was committed
- Any vehicle registered in the person's name
Reasonable and neccesary force can be used to enter.
This power may be used for recognised/interstate DVOs if:
- The person is a RESP on a recognised DVO, or
- A police officer has served or intends to serve a recognised DVO, or
- A police officer has or intends to serve an interstate DVO or an application for one
This power must not be used for recognised/interstate DVOs unless:
- The police officer is satisfied that the person has committed family violence against the protected person and is likely to do so again, or
- The police officer BORGS that the entry/search is necessary to ensure the safety of the protected person
